A Series is a separate operating cycle of the MATIK protocol. Each series begins with the first track and develops according to the same predefined rules. If we imagine a series as a long chain of tracks, launching a new series means starting a new chain from its very first link. Every new series is a fresh start.
Why Are New Series Created?
The liquidity capacities of tracks gradually increase. This growth is necessary for the protocol’s economic model, but track capacities cannot increase indefinitely. When the chain reaches a liquidity level at which the series becomes less attractive to participants, the protocol closes the current series and automatically launches a new one. This approach allows the system to maintain continuous operation regardless of how long the project has been running. What Happens When a New Series Starts?
When a new series is launched, the process begins again from the start. The first track opens with the minimum liquidity capacity, followed by the second, third, and all subsequent tracks. New transactions now contribute liquidity to the new series, and the chain gradually begins to grow once again. For new participants, the experience is similar to joining the protocol at the very beginning of its operation. What Happens to the Previous Series?
If any Reward Packages from the completed series are still awaiting reward activation, they continue to be processed through the GRP mechanism. This allows the protocol to operate on two levels simultaneously:- Develop and expand the new series.
- Continue activating rewards for outstanding packages from the previous series.
